The Monarchy

The Queen is dead, long live the Queen.
I have a new understanding of the Monarchy in Britain. One of the reporters, commenting on her importance to the country, said we see in the Queen the best of who we are .He mentioned the qualities of stability, constancy, and the capacity to change. He also commented on her wicked wit; despite her adherence to protocol, she was delighted when things went wrong. She was mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to the country, unifying, not polarizing her constituents.
Our wannabe monarch, the ex president, represents what is the worst in all of us: vengeance, greed, lust, dishonesty, blame. He lives the teachings of Goebbels; Accuse others of that which you are guilty.
