Supreme Court Thoughts
Joe Biden's statement, "This is not a normal court," got me thinking... Of course it’s not normal because the majority of the justices, seen through a psychological lens are not normal, if normal is viewed as being able to separate personal from political.
Clarence Thomas fascinates me. What drives him? I’ve been hooked on the news recently and as simplistic as it appears, his life has been devoted to proving to himself and everyone else that his success is unrelated to affirmative action and he needs to destroy affirmative action to make his case. Brett Kavanaugh apparently needed to overpower girls in order to assert his own power. I don’t know Alito’s story, but apparently his escape from himself is to accuse others of that which he is guilty. And Roberts needs to prove he’s not a racist by teaming up with Thomas.
Unfortunately anyone can run for political office or earn a law degree; no wellness test required. And the rest of us become their victims. Hurt people hurt people, the profound words of Father Greg Boyle.
